Adam Neely on AI-generated music platform Suno.

It was this video that compelled me to make this new feed.

I think about why I do music. You know, it’s exciting, it gives me purpose, direction, and also I find enormous value in sharing that excitement with other people so that they too might have that kind of burning drive that I feel. I think about how important it is to serve a community in pursuit of this meaningful art that is called music.

Service, patience, craft and beauty. That is how I’m going to articulate my values in contrast to the techno-capitalists.

Over the years, my misgivings with social media platforms resulted in being uncomfortable with ’supporting’ them by submitting any kind of content to them, and so my internet use in general became more and more read-only. I see things I like, want to share them, but have no way of doing so without further feeding the beast.

Something about this video made me want to remedy that somehow. I want to amplify, even just a little bit, the things that make me proud of humanity. It’s a whisper in the void, but it’s better than literally nothing.
