Within months of posting this video, the Boss SY-1 was released and, in my opinion, completely outclassed the EHX MonoSynth for a similar price point.

The MonoSynth can be fun, but is quite expensive and has a very limited sound palette - you will almost certainly be better served by one of its competitors.
